Jazz in Queens
When you think of jazz, you think of New Orleans, Chicago or Harlem. Queens doesn’t always spring to mind. Yet, some of the greatest jazz and big band names were either born, lived, or died in Queens. It will come as a surprise to most that since the 1920s, Queens has been home for hundreds of jazz musicians, including such all-time greats as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Milt Hinton, Lena Horne and Bix Beiderbecke to name but a few. Claret embraces the spirit of music in Queens and hosts local talented musicians playing jazz and bluegrass on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.

Live Music at Claret
